Special-interest publisher Future US has named John Marcom Jr. as its new president.
Marcom, a veteran of Yahoo!, the Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal, most recently was chief operating officer at AdGent 007, a San Francisco-based digital ad services company. He starts at Future US in October.
The company announced in June that that it was looking for a new president to replace Jonathan Simpson-Bint, who stepped down at the end of August to start his own business.
Future US is the U.S. arm of London-based Future plc, which publishes a wide range of male-oriented enthusiast titles including Official Xbox Magazine, Guitar World and Maximum PC. Future US has increased its focus on gaming in recent years, launching GamesRadar.com and buying a stake in N4G.
