Funtactix’s The Hunger Games Adventures comes to iPad

Social games developer Funtactix today announced that the official Facebook game for the Hunger Games franchise is now available for iPad.

The game allows players to become a character in author Suzanne Collins’ world, and it combines adventure and base management mechanics. The game monetizes via the sale of virtual goods like base items, traps and energy refills,

We reviewed the game when it made its debut in March alongside the release of the film and found it fun, especially for fans of the source material, but that it was marred by many technical issues.

The press release touted that the game recently presented players with the first-ever map of Panem, depicting the actual locations of Districts 2, 11 and 12 as well as the Capitol of the post-apocalyptic world. This is a noteworthy feature because it reveals a central piece of the franchise’s canon exclusively through a social game.

According to our AppData, The Hunger Games Adventures peaked 150,000 daily active users in early May, shortly after the release of the film. Today the game stands at 50,000 DAU.
