A new viral video from Funny or Die has got us thinking it’s about time Katie Couric quit her job as a journalist and took up a career in comedy. In ‘Katie Couric Investigates The Sillies’ we see a whole new side of the CBS News queen.
Couric does a little investigative reporting on the popular children’s song, ‘Shake Your Sillies Out’. She tells us, “It’s a song you’re probably familiar with. ‘Shake Your Sillies Out’ is easy to learn and adorable to watch. But according to new research there’s only one problem– it doesn’t work!” That’s right, it turns out you can’t shake your sillies out, clap your crazies out, jump your jiggles out, squiggle your squirmies out or wiggle your waggles away.
The thing that’s so great about this video is that, despite the fact that Couric has a severe case of the sillies, she is still presenting this “news” in the same serious tone that she would if it was a real expose. The result is side-splittingly funny. I definitely hope to see more ridiculous new stories from Katie Couric in the future, and hope Funny or Die plans to make this a regular feature.
The video is just starting to take off, with just over 118,000 views so far, but I expect it to get a whole lot more for sheer silliness. What do you think of Katie Couric’s new viral hit? Were you surprised to learn that shaking your sillies out doesn’t work?
