Fundraising Campaign Launched to Restore Original Gone with the Wind Dresses

Turning a 180 to museums who want to keep their collections, the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin has kicked off a campaign to raise $30,000 to restore five of the original dresses used in the film Gone with the Wind. The costumes are but a small piece of the museum’s massive David O. Selznick Collection, totaling more than 5,000 boxes of the famous film producer’s archives. And though the museum has all this material, pieces like the dresses are extremely fragile and need a good deal of work before they can be displayed.
