Friendster goes mobile

friendstermobile.jpgAsia’s no.1 social network (yes dear readers, it’s not MySpace or Facebook) just announced its new mobile site accessible at m.friendster.com. Friendster maybe a bit late in coming out with this mobile feature, but as the saying goes, better late than never. And what an opportune time to launch its mobile site indeed, as mobile internet is gradually gaining grounds in Asian countries.

Just like any other mobile social networking facilities, Friendster mobile gives its members access to all the social networking features that they would normally enjoy in the web version of Friendster. Anyone with internet-capable mobile phone can access Friendster mobile for free, but subject to their phone’s data carrier charges.

Friendster mobile will be made available in multiple languages too, just like its web version. Indonesian language gets to be the first additional language version of Friendster mobile as it Indonesia currently has over 8 million registered Friendster users with 4 million monthly unique visitors as of March 2008. Other languages will follow soon.

For those who are still in Friendster network, you might want to give its mobile version a try. For easy access next time, simply bookmark – m.friendster.com on your phone’s web browser. Enjoy!
