Nice column item from Dusty Saunders in the Denver Post on venerable 74-year-old sports journalist Frank Deford. One of the topics covered is the difference between Deford’s HBO Real Sports audience and the one that tunes in to his weekly “Sweetness and Light” public radio commentaries:
“The NPR series has given me an audience which is not necessarily completely involved in the sports world,” he said. “And it’s refreshing to hear what non-jocks and casual observers think about events and players.”
