Foursquare Checks Into San Francisco

Foursquare announced in a blog post today that the company is heading West in search of “mission-style burritos, temperate climates” and “a full team of West Coast engineers.”

In July the location-based social networking site had moved its New York headquarters to a larger office after raising $20M in Series B Funding from Union Square Ventures, O’Reilly AlphaTech Venturesand Andreessen Horowitz. In order to attract the “best talent in the world,” (sorry, New York) the company is setting up a satellite office in San Francisco, where the company has been sharing space with the mobile credit card-swiping service Square.
