Anne Craig, the bubbly WNYW entertainment reporter who left the station in 2011 for morning news anchoring at the ABC affiliate in Hartford, is ready to deliver her biggest story—she’s pregnant!
But that’s only half the story.
Craig, 38, has gone through a litany of agony that included four failed in-vitro fertilizations, two miscarriages, and a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy that required chemotherapy. Craig was told she would never be able to carry her own child.
“A true miracle that took us by surprise!” A beaming Craig tells FishbowlNY.
She made the announcement on Good Morning Connecticut today. An extremely personal crisis that has become the ultimate Silver Linings Playbook, Craig had to share it with viewers.
“I wanted to be very honest about my journey to pregnancy as I know millions of woman and couples are going through the same emotional battle,” Craig says. “Infertility is often underreported and Hollywood headlines of pregnancy after 40 makes it all look so easy. I wanted to offer my story as a way to let couples know they are not alone and to keep the faith.”
