Molly O’Toole, currently a politics reporter for Defense One, is joining Foreign Policy at the end of January as a senior reporter, announced managing and deputy managing editors for news Yochi Dreazen and Lara Jakes in an email to staff yesterday.
O’Toole’s focus at FP will be the 2016 elections, “with a particular focus on the national security issues that are becoming more and more central to the race,” according to Dreazen and Jakes. This will extend the work O’Toole was already doing on that front at Defense One.
Prior to joining the Atlantic Media publication, O’Toole was a news editor at Huffington Post.
“Beyond the resume, she’s a tenacious and imaginative reporter, a gifted writer, and a terrific colleague,” write Dreazen and Jakes of the new hire.
O’Toole’s first day is Jan. 25.
