Forecast is Sunny for WNYW Meteorlogist Shay Ryan, Heading to Tampa
Perhaps the heat wave wasn’t providing enough warmth for Shay Ryan. The WNYW/Channel 5 weekend meteorologist is on her way to a TV station in Tampa. FishbowlNY has been told Ryan starts the new gig immediately.
Ryan, who took over weekends in 2010, began at sister station WWOR/Channel 9 in 2008.
She spent eight years at WXYZ in Detroit. Ryan is married to former WNBC reporter Glenn Zimmerman.
There’s no mention of a replacement for Ryan, but one-time WNBC and WCBS meteorologist John Marshall is on the sidelines.
