Fly People To Vegas, Get Media Coverage

Leave it to the dudes at Thrillist, the e-mail (lifestyle?) newsletter for young dudes, to pack a plane full of young media types, all the while seducing them with free drinks, money and swag.

Ok, so we’re not too jealous that we weren’t invited. However, our own Glynnis MacNicol of FishbowlNY was present.

The trip was courtesy of JetBlue, and to celebrate (we think) the launch of Thrillist’s Boston edition.

So, what did they get in return? Coverage in Silicon Alley Insider, MediaPost, Radar, CNET, Stereogum, and of course, mediabistro, among others.

We can imagine that wasn’t the only point of the trip, but it’s not a bad consolation prize, either.

The best quote from all of the media coverage comes from indie-rocker Ed Droste of the band Grizzly Bear, who was somehow on the trip and wrote, “There is somebody named Julia Allison that dates a lot of ‘new digital media’ men and is famous for something I can’t recall. She lost her hard drive recently. Random.”
