Aviary, the company that powers Twitter newly released photo filters also powers Flickr’s, which Yahoo launched today.
“Now, all Flickr users, on web and mobile, can make their photos look amazing with Aviary’s tools, filters and effects,” Aviary boasted today on its blog.
The New York-based company provides a software development kit, or SDK, that works on multiple mobile operating systems. It’s funded by Spark Capital, Jeff Bezos, Reid Hoffman and Walgreens.
The company launched as Worth1000.com in 2001 and spun off in 2007 to begin building its current tool set.
Aviary could not be immediately reached, but on its website, it claims to have 25 million active users and more than 2,000 SDK partners. In addition to Twitter and Flickr, its partners include TwitPic, Box, Shopify and Mail Chimp.
Both Spark and Jeff Bezos are also Twitter investors.
