As Stephen Castle reminds in The New York Times, when a pair of reporters who work for Scottish newspaper the Sunday Post packed up their things this summer, they brought to a close the physical presence of daily newspaper reporters on London’s famous Fleet Street. Emblematically, their parent company DC Thompson has kept the office, but only for the purposes of housing non-editorial staff.

Meanwhile, The Guardian’s Roy Greenslade earlier in the week had a fun piece about a recent reunion of reporters who used to work for the Stratford Express, an East London weekly newspaper.
