While watching the fireballs and the people jumping and the buildings collapse, one of the salespeople from a vendor company at the conference — they sold some e-gadget or other — was extremely persistent, and cornered me for a sitdown. He wanted my magazine to partner with his company. I was numb — absorbed by what was happening downtown — but this sales guy was oblivious. He was focused on his sale.
