Five Nights at Freddy’s World Announced for Mobile

The spinoff is an RPG starring characters from the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.

Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon has announced the newest game in his massively popular franchise: Five Nights at Freddy’s World.

Rather than a sequel to the established Five Nights at Freddy’s horror game franchise, the title will be a spin-off role-playing game for PC and mobile devices.

Cawthon announced the game on Steam:

I wanted to keep my plans for a new game secret until Halloween, but while my teasers have created excitement for some people, they have created some confusion as well, mainly because people don’t know if the Five Nights at Freddy’s story is over or not.

It’s very important for me to say again that there will NOT be a Five Nights at Freddy’s 5. The story is complete, and the Halloween update and new game will not add to it.

Cawthon said Five Nights at Freddy’s World will allow him to use the franchise’s popular characters in ‘a new and fun way.’ Players will create a party using the games’ many characters, including the ‘classic, withered, toy, phantom and nightmare versions.’ Cawthon said the game will have a much larger scope than previous titles in the franchise.

Five Nights at Freddy’s World is in development for iOS, Android and PC, but no release window has been announced. Cawthon said a free demo will be released for the title ‘as soon as it’s ready.’ Check back soon for more.
