Financial Times Names Richard McGregor Washington Bureau Chief

The Financial Times has named Richard McGregor as the paper’s new Washington bureau chief, a role that finds him overseeing its coverage of politics and its DC-based reporters. The FT‘s former Washington bureau chief, Edward Luce, took leave to work on a book.

McGregor is currently the paper’s deputy news editor in London, but will move to DC on January 3rd for his new job. He has previously worked as the FT’s Beijing bureau chief and Shanghai correspondent, as well as The Australian’s chief political correspondent, Japan correspondent and China correspondent, as well as for the International Herald Tribune, the BBC and the Far Eastern Economic Review.
