Fillion's Casual Comment Sparks 'Firefly' Frenzy
Still cursing their beloved series’ 2003 cancelation, Firefly fans have launched a grassroots campaign to help former leading man Nathan Fillion obtain its rights.
Fillion — Capt. Mal Reynolds on Firefly, and currently the star of ABC’s Castle — seemed to be making nothing more than a casual comment when he told Entertainment Weekly what he’d do with $300 million in Lotto winnings: “[B]uy the rights to Firefly, make it on my own, and distribute it on the Internet.”
