Fandango Buys Movies.com

Fandango, the movie ticket company owned by Comcast since 2007, announced on Monday that it bought Movies.com from Disney, CNET’s The Social blog reports.

Executives said in a statement that the aim of the acquisition is to provide a one-stop movie hub for the Web, which will now include Movie.com’s reviews and breaking news, in addition to Fandango’s ticket sales to more than 15,000 theaters.

“We are pleased to expand our rich-entertainment reach through this strategic addition of Movies.com,”
