Sherman Oaks Firm Nabs Radio Mercury Award Nominations

There’s an outfit in the San Fernando Valley called the Famous Radio Ranch. It is not some sort of final resting place for pre-Internet era radio industry artifacts.

Rather, it’s a well-established radio ad firm founded by Dick Orkin and run with the help of his brother Sandy and son Haris. This year, two of the company’s spots are finalists at the prestigious 2011 Radio Mercury Awards.

Both of the nominated Ranch commercials were for Zippo’s line of outdoor products.
