TinyCo and Fox Digital Entertainment have announced the latest major content update for Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff on mobile devices. The update is called ‘Peterpalooza,’ and it brings a music festival to Quahog, complete with popular real-world recording artists.
The Peterpalooza update stars Snoop Dogg, ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, Deadmau5, Alice Cooper, Avril Lavigne and Rick Astley, with their in-game characters voiced by the artists themselves. The event runs from now until September 17, and will see players completing quests to ‘find the source of mysterious activities that threaten to sabotage the event.’
In Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff, players build their own version of Quahog after Peter accidentally destroys the town during a battle with the giant chicken. Players will complete quests and actions with characters from the Family Guy universe, and can unlock additional characters as they progress.
Andrew N. Green, head of business operations at TinyCo, told SocialTimes:
The Peterpalooza event in Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff is a great example of how TinyCo is trying to raise the bar in episodic mobile game content. We do this by integrating top celebrity talent and beloved entertainment IPs into our game updates.
Providing players with compelling bite-sized experiences on mobile is more important than ever, as these devices become more essential to daily entertainment … Family Guy is an excellent universe to celebrate and have fun with talent and brand cross-overs, and it’s been a pleasure to offer such engaging experiences for our players.
Past Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff events have brought Star Trek, Ghostbusters and horror film villains like Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees to the game, among other celebrities and entertainment properties.
