Fair & Balanced, But Not Fox News
Mobile News Pro—Fair & Balanced is an iPhone app that compiles headlines from Fox News Channel’s mobile site with the network’s logo and trademark. So what’s the problem?
The problem, Mediaweek reports, is that the app was created by RIV Creations, which is not authorized to use any logo or trademarks from Fox News or FOXNews.com.
Fox News filed a formal complaint asking Apple to remove the app from its App Store in December, according to Mediaweek, but Mobile News Pro—Fair & Balanced is still available for 99 cents.
The RIV Creations site touts similar applications for CNET News, BBC News, Drudge Report, The New York Times and NASA News.
