They say imitation is the sincerest of flattery. In this case, the “they” apparently refers to Twitter, as the activity and @username streams it began rolling out today sure do look familiar.
Sister blog AllTwitter reported on the two new tabs Twitter began rolling out to its users, and they resemble Facebook a lot more than they resemble Twitter. In all fairness, the same can be said for several features on both social networks.
The @username stream displays a Twitter user’s mentions, retweets, new followers, and tweets that have been favorited.
And the Activity tab, which replaces the Retweets tab, displays, as Twitter described it, “Favorites, follows, retweets, and more by people you follow.”
AllTwitter also said early feedback revealed that several users were unhappy with the activity tab, and with the disappearance of the retweets tab, even though retweets are incorporated into the @username stream.
