Next week is Advertising Week in New York, and PRNewser will be covering various events over the course of the week, along with our sister blog AgencySpy. In an email to media highlighting the week’s events, it was noted, “For all press attending the Facebook’s GeneratioNext Wrap Party, please note that this will be an ‘off the record’ event.”
The concept of an ‘off the record’ event is certainly nothing new, but we are a bit surprised at the practice being employed by a social media company. Does that mean no Facebook status updates from the event?
Ana Maria Virzi at ClickZ noticed the same thing, and asked, “Does that mean we’re going to have to leave our camera phones at the door? That doesn’t seem very social.”
