Facebook has been trying to push its chat feature through desktop, but now users are seeing prompts to use it on mobile. On the mobile News Feed, some users are seeing a “Chat With Friends” box with buttons to chat with active friends.
Facebook started promoting its chat feature more on the desktop News Feed last month, showing either a green dot a mobile phone icon to indicate that one of a user’s friends was available to chat.
Now it looks like Facebook is trying to get more people chatting on their mobile apps.
