Facebook Messenger Adds 3D Touch Support on iOS

The update allows users on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to preview contacts, conversations, photos, and more while using the app.

Facebook added 3D Touch support to Facebook Messenger on iOS, allowing users on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to preview contacts, conversations, photos, videos, stickers, links and locations while using the app.

As part of this update, users can access 3D Touch shortcuts by pressing on the app’s icon on the home screen. These shortcuts allow users to quickly access conversations with suggested contacts, or instantly go to the new message screen, where they can select contacts and send new messages.

Within the Facebook Messenger app, users can press on conversations to “Peek” into them, and press harder to “Pop” into the full conversations. Similarly, users can press on links, photos and more to Peek and preview them within the app, or press harder to load the full content.
