Facebook Forms PAC in Time for Election

Move allows social network to back candidates

Days after Facebook announced major changes to its services, the social network is bolstering its presence—and influence—in Washington, D.C., by officially forming its own political action committee, The Hill reports

Facebook filed the paperwork on Monday, plenty of time to get involved in the 2012 election. In a statement, the company said the PAC will give its employees "a way to make their voice heard in the political process by supporting candidates who share our goals of promoting the value of innovation to our economy while giving people the power to share and make the world more open and connected."
