Last night was a dream come true. Guest hosting for MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow was The Nation‘s D.C. Bureau Chief Chris Hayes. And who was his guest?
“Good evening, Keith,” WaPo‘s liberal blogger Ezra Klein said, blundering his pal’s name with that of “Countdown” host Keith Olbermann. The boys laughed and laughed and moved onto to discussing the filibuster. Klein, lead singer for the Boy Band, has specifically requested that FishbowlDC never write about him again. (As if he shouldn’t be covered by anyone but CJR. As if he’s not a member of the Washington, D.C. media like every other journalist in town.)
“Thank you, Chris,” Klein said at the close of the segment, specifically enunciating Hayes’ first name.
Who knows why Klein had Olbermann on the brain.
After the show, we hear…
that Ezra opted against cooking Hayes anything involving white bean stews, instead going for house made absinthe, and the two played Super Mario Crossover before checking out some health care chart porn…all the while talking about how glad they are that they don’t get shoved into lockers anymore now that they’re in Washington.
(Sure, somewhat kidding on this last part but it’s true Klein loves absinthe, Super Mario and health care charts.)
