After the House voted Thursday night to approve the Obama budget, a lower press office staffer sent out a statement by the president that began, “Tonight, the House of Representatives took another step toward rebuilding our …”
So far, so good but there was a second paragraph:
“Tonight, the Senate has joined the House of Representatives in taking an important step toward rebuilding our struggling economy.”
Only problem…the senators did no such thing. Nineteen minutes later, the White House sent out another e-mail:
“REVISED: STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT ON HOUSE PASSAGE OF FY10 BUDGET.” This time sans second paragraph.
Nice to see that the White House has already typed out the message they’ll send out when the Democrat-controlled Senate approves the budget.
