Local news network Examiner.com was one of the launch partners for the Send button rolled out Monday by Facebook, with the new feature enabling one-click sharing of Examiner.com content with all of a user’s Facebook friends.

When the social network launched its Commenting Plug-In in March, Examiner.com was also a launch partner, incorporating comments from Facebook’s News Feed into its comment threads, as well as adding replies to comments to the News Feed.

The Send button allows users to send Examiner.com content to other users’ inboxes, or share with multiple friends in a Facebook Group. Users can also add individual email addresses.

Examiner.com senior vice president of content and marketing Suzie Austin said:

The Send button adds another exciting sharing feature to Examiner.com. The plug-in makes it easy for people to share articles via direct access to their Facebook friends. This quick and straightforward method is a great way for both our Examiners and their readers to share articles and photos with the most relevant people, rather than sharing everything with all of their friends on Facebook.

Our 70,000 contributors continue to produce high-quality local content that is valuable and relevant to the communities in which they live. The addition of the Send button allows for more fluid distribution and promotion of their contributions to the engaged online communities they actively participate in. The traffic we see from Facebook continues to be of high quality — both in session length and return visits — and we expect that this plug-in will further advance that trend.
