Wall will oversee all marketing and audience-growth efforts at Brooklyn-based Gimlet Media, which has been expanding its efforts in branded podcasting, inking deals with Blue Apron, Mastercard, Microsoft and more. She brings three years of experience from Hulu to a company that wants to be the HBO of audio.
At Hulu, Wall oversaw the marketing of high-profile original shows including The Mindy Project, Difficult People, Casual and The Handmaid’s Tale.
Prior to Hulu, Wall spent a year-and-a-half as vp of marketing at Netflix, handling launch campaigns for original programming including House of Cards, Orange Is the New Black and Arrested Development.
She has also worked with BLT & Associates, Crew Creative Advertising and Go Marketing.
Wall left her post at the video-streaming service in May, and several other high-profile executives followed her out the door, including:
- Chief technology officer Tian Lim, who left in September to join Google Play as a vp focusing on product and user experience.
- CEO Mike Hopkins, who departed in October to take over Sony Pictures Television.
- Vp of business development for emerging technology and virtual reality Noah Heller, who left in November to start his own Los Angeles-based tech fund.
