While the LAT publisher is busy blogging, his acolytes are out DaShiv-ing each other, posting warm, fuzzy comments in response:
I am humbled by all the support I received this past 15 months and these past couple of days. I received numerous care packages while deployed and each one was filled with lots of goodies and useful items as well as many letters of encouragement and well wishes. I have many friends here at the Los Angeles Times and am pleased to be able to enjoy their company again. I am glad to be home and will be even happier upon my Sons return and all the young men and women serving over seas.

John and Anthony — thank you! Welcome back. David today is art walk in downtown LA, for those that have not attended it is a festive event the 2nd Thursday of the month, they have free shuttles between all the
galleries, refreshments, live bands and more… I think LAT should have a presence there, some of our competitors do.

It is great to have John back with us after his service requirements
have ended for now. John is a great guy and was sorely missed by all his lunchtime hooping buddies who play basketball on B1 during the week. It was a very uplifting day when John returned to the court to show off his skills and reunite with his “L.A. Times comrades of the court” after his long absence. We all missed him and are extremely happy he returned to us safely.
