India’s Eros Entertainment is getting its feet wet in the PC gaming biz, teaming with game developer FXLabs Studios for a title based on the Bollywood film “Ghajini.”
Starring local screen idol Aamir Khan, the action film — which opened in India on Christmas Day — will provide the basis for a 3-D, third-person adventure titled “Ghajini — The Game.”
Khan will lend his voice to the project, which will see players assume his character in settings and scenarios recreated from the film.
“What better than an exciting film like ‘Ghajini’ … to launch India’s first 3-D PC game?” Eros Pictures executive director Biren Ghose said Monday. “We see the game as another cinematic frontier. Eros International and FXLabs will hopefully be the first in creating a line of games that leverage big movie titles and stories.”
Listed on London’s AIM stock exchange, Eros recently launched a joint-venture artist management agency with Universal Music Group.
