Still with me on this blog? I’m not finished with statistics yet today (see my Pew Internet commentary). Ericsson Labs published interesting data from report about app stores. This report looks at data from the Apple App Store for iPad, the Apple App Store for iPhone, BlackBerry App World (worldwide), Google Android Market, Nokia Ovi Store, Palm App Catalog and Windows Marketplace for Mobile for July 2010 in the United States.
Here’s a few findings I found interesting:
– 60+% of all apps in all app stores is below or equal to $2.
– 60% of all apps int he Android Market are free. This is the largest percentage of free apps of all the app stores. By comparison 26% of apps in the iPhone App Store are free.
– Electronic Arts (EA) is the top grossing publisher in the Apple App Store for iPhone
