Ericsson: Consumers Really Do Want Mobile TV

A recent survey from Ericsson and CNN found that there’s strong consumer demand for mobile TV. In fact, according to the survey, it’s the number-one app that users want on their cell phone.

Thirty-four percent of survey participants said that TV tops their list of mobile applications they want, and 44% are ready to become mobile TV viewers within the next two years, a report on the study says.

Of those who already watch TV on their phone, 24% do so daily and just over half (52%) are weekly viewers.

Other mobile applications poised for widespread growth include photo and video messaging, provided that pricing and functionality improve. Some 57% of respondents already send or receive photos on their phone at least once a month, according to the results.
