Intellectual-property advisors Envision IP analyzed patent acquisitions recorded by Facebook at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2013 and 2014, and it reported some interesting findings.

According to Envision IP:

  • Facebook acquired 54 patents from Fujifilm, related to image and video data compression, server technology for image playback and transfer, and image editing and presentation systems. Envision IP highlighted U.S. Patent No. 7,617,279, which related to printing images via peer-to-peer networks, and 7,484,661, which covers a point-of-sale terminal for printing images.
