Enough About Knitting Already Or Not?

There have loads of stories about how sewing is the new knitting. The way pundits talk, you’d think that women (and men) have abandoned their knitting needles in droves for sewing machines. But that hasn’t been the case if anecdotal evidence is any evidence. Take Chicago’s Stitching Salon, where this writer took refuge from he high winds last weeks to get help on blasted knitted skirt’s she making. Low and behold, there had to be at least 20 women in there working there working their DPNs, crochet hooks, and knitting needles in the middle of the workday.
