This week’s paid charts have a new champion in the No. 1 spot — Ndemic Creations’ new game Plague Inc, which tops the charts for both the iPhone and iPad. The $0.99 game casts players a deadly plague trying to wipe out all life on earth while adapting to fight off humanity’s attempts to find a cure. The game features both Game Center and OpenFeint leaderboards and achievements.
Aside from Plague Inc, MTV Network’s new educational game Nick Jr Draw & Play HD also posted a strong debut, shooting to No. 3 on the paid iPad charts after its May 31 release. The interactive coloring book app features several popular Nick Jr characters including Dora the explorer, Diego, Team Umizoomi and the Bubble Guppies. Parents can also share their children’s creations from the app via Facebook and email.
Further down the iPad charts Mountain Sheep’s Bike Baron also showed new strength, climbing to No. 25 on the iPad charts after being selected as one of Apple’s games of the week.
