Back in the Summer of 2014, Edelman acquired the Swedish creative comms agency Deportivo and merged the practice with its own Stockholm office; at the time, AdAge described the buy as Edelman’s “largest non-PR investment yet.”
For a little more on why Edelman acquired Deportivo, here’s a new campaign released for the agency’s client Philips yesterday.
The work stars influencer Tejbz, the self-described “Chuck Norris of Sweden,” a video gamer and Twitch regular whose YouTube channel has more than half a million subscribers.
Here he is testing the client’s remote “Roboshaver” with the help of fellow gamer “Maddelisk”:
That was more than a little frightening. We will definitely NOT try it at home.
While we are not members of the demographic targeted in this campaign, a stunt promising the “world’s first remote shave” is certainly one way to help the client stand out.
