Edelman’s market research company StrategyOne has a new global CEO; Steve Lombardo will take the helm starting May 31. Lombardo served as founding president of the company from 1999 to 2003. He also founded Lombardo Consulting Group (LCG). He returns to StrategyOne as Edelman acquires LCG. He’ll be based in Washington D.C.

Also, Matt Norquist is joining StrategyOne as EVP of the company’s New York office beginning on the 31st. Norquist was previously a partner at Gallup Consulting.

According to the press release, StrategyOne grew 23 percent in 2010 and counts AstraZeneca, eBay, and GE among its clients. LCG clients include Pfizer and Kayak.com.

Also, Edelman has appointed Charles Lankester as global chair of the firm’s crisis practice.

Lankester was previously GM of the firm’s Seoul office. That position has been taken up by Sung Bin Chang, who was previously EVP and deputy MD of Prain Inc., a Korean consultancy.

Lankester will also continue to serve as Asia Pacific’s regional MD of the corporate practice, managing the 16 offices of that region. He’ll be responsible for the business in that region and for building out the capabilities for the risk and crisis group globally. Edelman has had South Korean operations for about 15 years.
