Dragon City and Hidden Chronicles this week's gainer and loser among August's Top 25 Facebook games

This week, we're still on the bottom half of the Top 25 Facebook games of August, but the titles on this portion of the list have much higher numbers of daily active users than those we looked at last week. This month, though, the games on this part of the Top 25 list were mostly tied for the same spots, so even small shifts in traffic may cause quite a bit of shifting in terms of standings. Here's what we've looked at so far this month: August 9, 2012: No. 25 (Top Eleven) through No. 19 (Pool Live Tour) This week, we're looking at No. 18 through No. 13. T17. Dragon City Social Point's Dragon City continues to grow, up from 2.2 million DAU to 2.5 million. The game is the latest hit for Social Point, the studio behind Social Empires and Social Wars. The game's been steadily growing since it launched in May, but traffic's really taken off since July 1. Since then, Dragon City's numbers are up by nearly 2 million DAU. At the moment, it looks like the gains are starting to slow down a bit, but the game will probably move up several spots next month if they continue. T17. المزرعة السعيدة FunPlus Game's Arabic-language farm simulator المزرعة السعيدة ("Happy Farm") is still losing traffic, down from 2.2 million DAU to 2 million. The game launched in July 2011 and steadily gained traffic, reaching a peak of 3 million DAU. Ever since then, Happy Farm's audience has been gradually been shrinking. If its numbers continue to shrink at this rate, though, the game will likely slip even closer to No. 20. 16. Hidden Chronicles Zynga's Hidden Chronicles is still losing traffic, down to 1.9 million DAU from 2.2 million. The Hidden Object game launched in January and quickly spiked, reaching a high point of 7.3 million DAU in February. By March, traffic was beginning to fall off and the numbers have been shrinking regularly since then. The game's down by almost 1 million DAU since the start of July, and it's likely that this acceleration in traffic loss may put Hidden Chronicles close to the bottom of the list next month. T13. Tetris Battle Tetris Online's Tetris Battle is yet another title losing traffic, down from 2.6 million DAU to 2.3 million. Ever since the game launched in July 2010, it's been benefitting from word-of-mouth buzz about its multiplayer puzzle action. The game gradually picked up steam and began to dramatically grow around October 2011, peaking in April with 4.2 million DAU. If the drop-off continues at this pace, Tetris Battle will likely drop down a few spots in September, probably close to No. 20. T13. Bejeweled Blitz EA PopCap's Bejeweled Blitz continues to grow and shrink in waves. The game's up from 2.5 million DAU to 2.7 million, but it's dropped as low as 2.3 million twice over the past couple of weeks. Since the game launched in 2009, it's gone through major shifts in traffic levels, reaching a peak in September 2010 with 4.6 million DAU. The game hasn't been this low since Fall 2011, but PopCap was able to bring the numbers back up to 3.4 million DAU this past May. If Bejeweled Blitz stays at this point or begins to pick up, it'll likely move up a spot or two. T13. Zynga Slingo Zynga Slingo's numbers are on the decline again, down to 2.2 million DAU from 2.5 million. The game launched in March and peaked in May with 4.3 million DAU. Since then, its traffic's been dropping steadily. Based on this shrinkage Zynga Slingo may have less than 2 million DAU, which would mean it'll could be below the No. 20 spot on next month's list.
