The saying goes that Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. That may or may not be true, but a scorned Beijing woman certainly made her home hot as blazes earlier this week.
According to an Associated Press story, after her husband left her and their troubled marriage, the woman set fire to 400 cell phones belonging to the couple’s business.
The 37-year-old was reportedly so distraught about the end of her marriage that she collected their shop’s full inventory of new phones, set them ablaze and left the house, the AP says, citing a report from China’s official Xinhua News Agency.
The phones were valued at some $42,000. The woman was charged with arson.
