The Walt Disney Studios has announced its partnership with Google Play, enabling Android consumers in the United States to view their Disney, Pixar and Marvel digital movie collection across their Android devices using the Disney Movies Anywhere app. The app also provides access to film previews and “hours” of free short-form content.
To access their films in the app, users simply download the Disney Movies Anywhere app and connect it to their Google account. Within the app, users can browse Disney’s library of over 400 active digital titles, which are available to purchase. Users can also use the app to redeem their own Digital Copy voucher codes from their own physical Blu-ray and DVD purchases, and earn will Disney Movie Rewards points for doing so.
To celebrate the launch of the app, Disney Movies Anywhere users who connect to their separate Google accounts will receive a free digital copy of Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph.
“We are very excited to announce Google Play as our newest partner for Disney Movies Anywhere,” said Janice Marinelli, president of Disney Studio In-Home and Digital Distribution & Disney-ABC Content Distribution, in a statement. “We set out to create an exceptional Disney experience that made owning digital movies easy and fun, and with Google Play now on board following our successful launch in February, we are able to deliver unprecedented availability and ease for consumers across a broad range of mobile devices.”
