Case in point: Richard Rayner, who last week found out his freelance column for the Los Angeles Times was being cut, is moving his column to the Los Angeles Review Of Books, a publication so new that its official website is powered by Tumblr. (h/t GalleyCat)
Meanwhile, Disney’s Interactive Media Group has hired Mitchell Kreuch (pictured) as vice president, digital ad sales for the eastern region of the U.S., the company said in a press release. He joins from The About Group, where he set ad sales strategy for about.com, Calorie Count, and Consumersearch.com.
He’ll report to Dave Dickman, the senior vice president of DIMG digital ad sales.
Also, Thomson Reuters has appointed Peter Lauria to editor-in-charge of technology, media and telecom coverage in the Americas. He had been freelancing since February of this year and working for The Daily Beast before that. He starts his new job next Monday. (h/t Talking Biz News)
