Bess Levin, editor of DealBreaker.com, will be writing a business Q&A column for the New York Observer, FishbowlNY has learned. She will continue to edit DealBreaker while writing the weekly column on the side.
The first column, an interview with hedge-fund manager Jim Chanos, an Observer spokeswoman told FishbowlNY. His firm, Kynikos Associates, exclusively short-sells overvalued securities. He famously took a short position in disgraced energy firm Enron in 2000, riding the stock down as accounting irregularities surfaced before the company kicked the bucket in 2001.
Levin writes biting, tough commentary on big Wall Street figures including JPMorgan-Chase CEO Jamie Dimon and hedge-fund manager Cliff Asness. She recently made headlines for setting a plagiarism trap that caught former New York Times blogger Zachery Kouwe lifting material from DealBreaker.
