Couple of quickies to end the day that we picked up from Designboom, who must’ve just had a load of coffee lately, as their blog posting just got overloaded with goodies. One is a follow-up to something we posted earlier in the week, wherein we mentioned Shepard Fairey. His “Obey” work is getting a big solo show in Barcelona at the Magda Gallery, which is yet another thing you should send us money so we can go. The other is DB’s fantastic and extensive, as always, coverage of Cai Guo-Qiang’s new scary sculpture atop the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, as well as the other three pieces installed, including our favorite, the dead birds lying at the foot of the glass. We’re sure it means something deeply profound, but we also think it’s darkly funny too.
