Dancing Edges Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting as Most Watched Prime Time Show

Holiday regalia is full steam ahead! Office parties are the norm. And another seasonal mainstay is NBC’s tradition of the Christmas tree lightning at home base–Rockefeller Plaza.

The holiday favorite brought throngs in the Christmas spirit to Midtown, and millions to their seats. The show tied for second, according to Nielsen, with an estimated 1.4 million viewers tuned in to WNBC, and a 7.2 rating.

The final 15 minutes of CBS’ NFL coverage also nailed down number two for the week.

But standing atop all others was ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.
