Joanna Molloy at the Daily News has a piece on Patricia Kirtley, the ex-wife of media darling Ted Williams, in today’s paper. Kirtley’s tale is one that has been glossed over, but it’s one that should be told if we’re all going to celebrate Williams as much as we have.
23 years ago Williams abandoned Kirtley and their four young daughters when he got caught up in the addictive world of drugs and alcohol. Kirtley, who is partially blind, then raised the girls, and another son Williams had with a different woman, mostly by herself.
