Cyber Monday Mobile Sales Up 96% This Year: IBM

Mobile shopping increased 70 percent this Cyber Monday as compared to last year. According to IBM’s Benchmark Cyber Monday report which looked at online retail sales up until 12am PT on Monday, this year 18 percent of consumers used a mobile device to visit a retailer’s website.

These numbers come from IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark’s tool, a cloud-based Web analytics platform that tracks more than a million e-commerce transactions a day. According to the metrics, 13 percent of consumers made a purchase using their mobile phones, a 96 percent increase over 2011.
