To celebrate the game’s first birthday, Pretty Simple Games has released some monumental stats for its hidden object game Criminal Case (our review) on Facebook. In the past 12 months, the game has been played by 100 million players. representing 40 percent of all Facebook users who play games worldwide.

Criminal Case asks players to complete hidden object scenes to find clues, analyze clues and evidence in the lab and solve cases with the help of friends. Since launching one year ago, the game has been updated with new investigations each week, with each update bringing hours of new content to gamers.

Because of the game’s success, Pretty Simple Games has grown in size, hiring 20 new employees, with plans to hire 100 more in the next two years. While the game’s total revenue wasn’t revealed, the developer did confirm it was over eight digits.

At the game’s peak, Criminal Case was being played by almost 9 million users each day, according to AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers. Right now, the game has almost 25 million monthly active players and 6.5 million daily active players.

While continuing to support the Facebook version of the game, Pretty Simple Games is also working on an iOS version of Criminal Case, coming early next year. An Android version is also in the works, and will be released later.

Criminal Case is available to play for free on Facebook.
