Ohio Jurors Recommend Death Sentence for Craigslist Killer

Richard James Beasley, 53, faced the death penalty for the murder of several men who responded to his classified ad on Craigslist. In this video, Summit County, Ohio Judge Lynne S. Callahan reads the jury’s decision.

CNN reported yesterday that the Summit County, Ohio jurors, after convicting Beasley of aggravated murder, kidnapping, aggravated robbery and other charges, unanimously recommended that he be sentenced to death for his crimes. Judge Callahan has yet to issue the formal sentence.

In November 2011, Scott Davis of South Carolina was held at gunpoint in the woods outside the 688-acre cattle farm where he had shown up for work in response to the online ad.
